ABOUT THE SHIP
The original Hermione was built according to the plans of the engineer Chevillard Aîné. One of a group of 4 light frigates built in Rochefort along with the Courageuse, the Concorde and the Fée. Characterized by their speed and agility, the ship was fitted with 26 cannons shooting 12-pound cannon balls, hence its name “frigate of 12”.
The replica pictured above was built in Rochefort and launched on the 6th July 2012
