Lisbon TSR 2012

Pictures from the Port of Lisbon, Crew Parade, Parade of Sail and finally the Race itself

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better parade of sail, it was absolutely phenomenal !  The wind increased during the afternoon and we only had about 30 minutes to take pictures at the start of the race but the weather and the scene on the Atlantic was simply stunning. Our press boat, a rib, had difficulty in keeping up with the fleet. The ships were moving fast as they hauled up more and more sail, our skipper commented on the Dar Mlodziezy “she must be doing 16 knots”. We managed to get ahead of the fleet but as we turned to take pictures they literally flew past us again.  Then over the noise of the engines I heard the skippers voice “We must go! It’s getting rough! It will be a difficult ride back”
