ABOUT THE SHIP
Dyrafjeld is a Norwegian “jakt” built in 1889, rigged as a gaff ketch she is among the world’s oldest wooden sailing vessels. Restored at one point as the “Anna Kristina” her story is the history of the jakt`s and ketches, who sailed along the coast of Norway with fish and other goods. Some sailing as far afield as Portugal, Spain and Brazil with cargoes of dried and salted fish. Built by craftsmen, the Norwegian Jakt`s strength and beautiful lines make her very capable of handling the stormy winters of the North Atlantic.
