Georg Stage 1934 Denmark

ABOUT THE SHIP
The “Georg Stage ll ” was constructed around 1934 at the Frederikshavn shipyard, Denmark, after the original vessel (1882-1934) had been decommissioned.
The name Georg Stage is used by the independent foundation “Georg Stages Minde” established in 1882 by the ship owner Frederik Stage and his wife Thea, for the training of Denmark’s sailors. “Georg Stage” is currently the smallest full rigger in the World and quite possibly the prettiest. The original ship of the same name, decommissioned in1934, was later acquired by the author and mariner Alan Villiers, renamed “Joseph Conrad” and is today moored at Mystic Seaport in Connecticut, USA.
