LA RECOUVRANCE 1992 FRANCE

La Recouvrance
La Recouvrance – Pertuis d’Antioche close to Île-d’Aix

ABOUT THE SHIP
Launched at the Brest maritime festival 1992, la Recouvrance is a replica of an aviso, a 19th century military ship, originally intended to carry urgent messages. These functions were then extended to surveillance and trade protection missions on the coasts of Africa and the Caribbean. There were four ships – the schooners Fine, Doris, Daphne and Levrette – built according to the model plan of the first aviso, named Iris, designed by engineer Jean-Baptiste Hubert.
