The original Nao Victoria, commanded by Juan Sebastian Elcano, left Seville in 1519 and returned to the same city in 1522 after circumnavigating the globe for the first time in history.

When it was over we set sail for Tazones on the North coast of Spain, after 3 days of heavy weather we were obliged to cut our journey short and put into Bilbao. The last three portraits were taken whilst the ship was in Greenwich earlier in 2017
